Suck it up, and be a man.
We’ve all heard those words at some point in our lives – some of us maybe more than others, unfortunately. But what does it take to really be a man? There are a lot of different thoughts and theories on what it takes to grow up and become a man, but a lot of the more stereotypical ones usually come with some sort of backhanded insult. Because, you know, just deal with it. Right?
If you were to ask us the true definition of a real man, we’d be at a loss for words. It’s hard to categorize three billion unique individuals into one single category. But if we were to take a stab at it, we’d say, at his core, a real man puts other’s needs before his own, works hard to achieve success and isn’t afraid to be someone others can look up to. Consequentially, this idea also applies to women. Moral of the story? We’d say the key to being a real man is just being a good person.
For a man who’s out and on his own for the first time – whether he be in his twenties, thirties or even forties – it can be difficult to navigate the cruel world life has laid out for him. Some of his friends may tell him again to “suck it up,” but hey, man…blaze your own trail. Don’t just “be a man.” Be your own man, and do it well with no regrets.
We’ve put together a small collection of inspirational quotes for men about growing up. We believe that, no matter how old you are, there’s always room for growth and hope that you guys can find a bit of guidance via these quotes.
