While doing research on traditional tufting techniques in England, we came across a decades old sofa in a centuries old British pub, fell in love with it’s unique splayed arms, shortbread biscuit back, & understated charm, and leapt at the chance to take it home with us.
The Whitman style came from that same sofa. We kept the heart & soul of the old pub, and expanded the style into additional sizes and added a more comfortable sloped back & softer sit.

Our Whitman Chesterfield is available in a range of sizes: Chair: 47″ or 58″ width, Loveseat: 69″ or 80″ width, Sofa: 91″, 102″, 113″, or 124″ width. Overall depth options include 38″ (23″ seat), 40″ (24″ seat), and 42″ (26″ seat).
Sleeper sizes include: Twin 69″, Full 91″, and Queen 102″, and all sleepers have a 42″ overall depth (25″ seat)
Keep in mind that all of our tufted pieces allow for a 1½ inch tolerance on any side for our artisanal craftsmen to find both the perfect push & pull of the tufts and the most appealing pleating in the material you choose.
